Who we are
Upfront Property Information is run by Home Sale Information Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 14947917), at The Spire, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2DS. We are the controller of the personal information described here.
Questions about this policy or your information: privacy@homesalepack.com.
Using the site
You can search postcodes and read property reports without giving us any personal information. You don’t need an account.
Like most websites, our servers record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page asked for. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, and delete them after no more than 90 days.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to see how people use the site. See Cookies below.
Maps on report pages are loaded by your browser from OpenStreetMap’s tile servers, which receive your IP address so they can send the map. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
Cookies
We use Google Analytics, from Google, to understand how people find and use the site: which pages are visited, how long for, roughly where visitors are (town or country, not exact location), what device and browser they use, and which site sent them. We use this to improve the site. We don’t use it for advertising.
Google Analytics only runs with cookies if you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner. The lawful basis is your consent. If you reject, it sets no cookies. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
The cookies it sets if you accept:
- _ga: tells visits from different browsers apart. Lasts 2 years.
- _ga_<ID>: keeps track of your current visit. Lasts 2 years.
We also store your cookie choice in your browser, so we don’t ask again. This is needed for the site to respect your choice and doesn’t need consent.
Google processes analytics data on our behalf and may process it in the United States. See how Google uses this data.
Getting a PDF of a report
When you ask for a PDF of a report, we collect:
- your email address
- whether you’re a buyer, a seller or an agent
- the address of the property the report is for
- the date and time of your request
We use this information to:
- email you the PDF you asked for. The lawful basis is that you asked us to provide it.
- contact you about our services related to buying or selling a home, such as material information packs. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in following up a request about a specific property. We only send you marketing emails if you tick the box to agree to them.
Apart from the PDF, we don’t send you emails automatically. You can ask us not to contact you at any time, and every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information. We share it only with suppliers who help us run the site:
- Microsoft (Azure), who host the website and send the PDF emails for us
- Google, who provide Google Analytics, if you accept analytics cookies
They act on our instructions and must keep your information secure. We may also share information if the law requires it.
We store your information in the UK. If a supplier ever processes it outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, as UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address, your answer and the property you asked about for up to 2 years from your most recent request, then delete them. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct it if it’s wrong
- delete it
- stop or restrict using it, including for marketing
- give it to you in a format you can pass to someone else
You can also object to us using it for our legitimate interests. To use any of these rights, email privacy@homesalepack.com. We reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
